Think of the last time you saw something that made you feel nostalgic. Maybe it was a childhood vacation at the beach, or teenagers at a school dance, or a newlywed couple walking down the aisle. These memories are usually visualized with similar characteristics, including slight grain, soft focus, and a shift in color saturation; all characteristics of film. There is a distinct emotional connection between these pinnacle moments in our lives and the innate qualities of film.
Directors are quite familiar with this connection, and examples of Super-8 film can be seen in television, movies, and music videos when nostalgia is called for.
We at In Films are distressed to see so many wedding videos that didn't take advantage of this natural connection. You've probably seen them too: two-hour long documentaries that looked like the belonged on a cable public access channel. When invited to sit through these memories, the couple often reaches for the fast-forward button to avoid boring their audience. We knew this wasn't the way weddings were meant to be remembered.
We strive to craft films rich with emotion, meaning, and beauty through use of Super-8 film cinematography, expert editing, and carefully-selected music. We believe in our product and wouldn't stand for anything less at our own weddings!
The InFilms InBlog is our place to document our experiences as we deliver the artistic alternative in wedding cinematography. Thanks for joining us on this journey!
